CyanogenMod 9 is making some progress on the HP TouchPad and version Alpha 0.6 of CM9 was just released. This release adds a couple of enhancements as well as some bug fixes and more. Ice Cream Sandwich on the HP TouchPad isn’t perfect yet as video hardware acceleration and most importantly the camera are not working yet but it’s getting there for sure. CyanogenMod 9 (Ice Cream Sandwich) has never been that close (and it will get closer with every day that passes 
). While we are waiting for an official release, folks keep on getting their hands on the code source and compile it for all of us. The latest builds start to get really usable and now support HD videos (YouTube, Netflix etc.) on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and others. ICS looks and now runs amazingly well on that tablet. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet (what a long name!) is the flagship Android ICS tablet these days. Its Tegra 3 CPU and the fact that it runs Ice Cream Sandwich make it the tablet to beat at this time. Asus recently provided an OTA update for ICS and some folks may have their root privileges. But be assured that the dev community is watching as there is now an easy to use utility which can root your Asus Transformer Prime (running Ice Cream Sandwich or Honeycomb) and Asus Transformer tablets.
Samsung will most likely not have an official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab so we have to count on our favorite developers to port ICS to this tablet. Things are actually looking pretty good as some folks have managed to get CyanogenMod 9 (ICS) running on the Galaxy Tab. It’s still work in progress but many things are working, while as you can guess some are not working that well… But if you own a Galaxy Tab and want to get ICS you need to have a look.
Live Wallpapers were one of the first feature folks talked about when Android 2.1 first came out.
