Essential Apps for Your Honeycomb Tablet – Part 2

Posted by techhackz-admin Friday, August 12, 2011

This is the second part of our series of articles about apps optimized for Honeycomb tablets. Finding the best apps for your Honeycomb tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola XOOM, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia Tab etc.) can be quite tricky even if Google is trying to make it easier for us. Let’s have a look at a couple more apps for Honeycomb tablets.

You can find our previous article in this series @ Essential Apps for Your Honeycomb Tablet – Part 1.

File Sharing

To share files (pictures, documents, videos, music & more) between your computer, your phone and your tablet you can use an app called Dropbox. Dropbox is free and offers 2Gb of free storage in the cloud, you can also buy more storage space if you’d like. This app is simple to use and install on various platforms, find out more @ http://www.dropbox.com).

Magazines

Zinio is a great app to read your favorite magazines on your Honeycomb tablet, you can even access foreign magazines which is very nice if you want to practice! Zinio Reader provides subscription services and access to thousands of magazines, there are even some free ones. Check out Zinio for Honeycomb in the YouTube video below.

Weather

To look at the weather forecast on your tablet, Accuweather offers a great app optimized for Honeycomb. You can take a look at the weather forecast for multiple locations, access hourly details and much more. You can also add a widget on your home screen if you’d like.

You can see a preview of the Accuweather app for Honeycomb in the video below:

Movies

To access information about movies, DVDs etc. on your Honeycomb tablet you can use the IMDB app or an app called Movies by Flixster. Both apps allow you to watch trailers, access movie information, showtimes and more. The IMDB app came out recently, personally I prefer the Movies by Flixster app but both are nice.
