unrevoked 3.3 now supports latest HTC EVO HBOOT

Posted by techhackz-admin Sunday, January 2, 2011

unrevoked, one of our favorite tool to root HTC devices, has just been updated and version 3.3 now supports HTC EVO 4G running the latest Over The Air (OTA) update: 3.70.651.1 and the latest HBOOT version: 2.10. It also comes with the latest release of ClockworkMod recovery from Koush . Check it out if you updated your HTC EVO and lost your root privileges or simply got an EVO for Christmas and want to root it.

Note that we will not be responsible if you end up bricking your device, rooting or jailbreaking your phone or tablet can be risky. If you follow the instructions carefully you should be fine!
unrevoked 3.3 also supports the latest HTC EVO 4G hardware revision (003 and 004) and is supposed to be more reliable than previous versions.

Update (01/04/11): unrevoked 3.31 has now been released, the changelog has been updated below.

If you’d like to root your HTC EVO 4G download unrevoked @ http://unrevoked.com/. For more information about unrevoked3 go to http://unrevoked.com/recovery/.
Here is the change log for the latest versions [from public:unrevoked3]:
v3.31:
Fixes a bunch of small issues that people were having, and backs down to Clockwork 2.6.0.1. This adds support for Amend scripting back in, but keeps all the good changes from 3.0.0.2 -- WiMAX backup, and the new kernel with support for new hboot partitions.
v3.3:
Fix for latest EVO 4G OTA (3.70.651.1) and EVO 4Gs with new versions of HBOOT (2.02 and 2.10).
Switched exploits for all platforms; hopefully more reliable than rageagainstthecage
Updated ClockworkMod, with plenty of new features:
3.0.0.2 for EVO 4G, which has a new kernel (for better WiMAX safety), and supports WiMAX key backup
2.5.1.2 for Incredible, which supports SLCD
No update for Wildfire yet; sorry.
Only Snow Leopard is supported in this build.
v3.22:
Fix for latest Incredible OTA.
New Mac OS X build infrastructure; let us know if it broke for you.
Switched to in-house reimplementation of rageagainstthecage for better reliability.
As usual this release is as easy to use as the others, start unrevoked plug in your device using your USB cable and follow the instructions!
